Planting seeds of change together through restoration and education
Each January, Posiyé Gardens leads a district-wide Earth Day celebration that brings together communities, government officials, and environmental organizations to plant trees and promote environmental awareness.
"Malawi's continued experience of scanty rainfall patterns should serve as a reminder that most vegetative cover is gone. Our joint commitment to replenish bare grounds can help reverse climate change effects."
Henderson Namwali, Patron of Posiyé Gardens
Our annual event features tree planting ceremonies at schools and community centers, educational workshops, and partnership announcements with government agencies.
"Thyolo district director of environment and natural resources, Miriam Yona has lauded the private sector support, which helps achieve our annual reforestation targets."
"Group Village Headman Namilonje has pledged to care for the planted trees by strengthening community by-laws."
Through these annual events, we've established long-term relationships with traditional leaders who enforce environmental protection measures in their communities.
